Home Production/Storage Self Reliance Suggestions (from May 31st)

  1. Plant a garden
  2. Learn how to can a new food item.
  3. Inventory your food storage.
  4. Make three freezer meals for a rainy day.
  5. Make your own bread this month.
  6. Mend 10 clothing items.
  7. Sew one article of clothing.
  8. Re purpose one clothing item.
  9. Learn how to dry a food item.
  10. Dry pack a food item for your storage.
  11. Read information on church website about home storage.
  12. Make a plan to increase your food storage.
  13. Make do with what you already have, work instead of buying it.
  14. Get your children involved in food storage/production.
  15. Learn how to sew.
  16. Teach a child how to sew.
  17. Recycle old clothing into something useful.
  18. Read a book on square-foot gardening.
  19. Weed an area in your yard.
  20. Share a garden item with a neighbor.
