Mix all ingretients in freezer, stir until Sugar is dissolved. Churn & freeze until semi-frozen. Makes 2 quarts.
Creamy Italian Chicken
8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves 2 pkg. dry Italian salad dressing mix (one pkg. if a more subtle taste is desired) 1/4 cup water 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened 10 3/4 oz. can cream of chicken soup 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained (or fresh sauteed)
Slower cooker method: Place chicken in greased slow cooker. Combine salad dressing and water. Pour over chicken. Cover. Cook on low 4-5 hours. In saucepan, combine cream cheese and soup. Heat slightly to melt cream cheese. Stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Cover. Cook 1 additional hour on low. Serve over noodles or rice.
Quicker Oven method: Place chicken in greased baking dish. Combine salad dressing and water. Pour over chicken. Bake uncovered @ 325 for 1 hour. Soften cream cheese in microwave and mix with soup. Remove chicken from oven and stir some or all of the liquid from the chicken into the soup-cream cheese mixture to make a sauce consistency; pour the mixed liquid over the chicken and top with sauteed mushrooms. Return to the oven for 20 minutes or until the mixture is heat through.
Barbeque Chicken Breasts
3 lbs Chicken breasts 1 tsp. Garlic salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 beaten egg 4-6 T cornstarch or flour 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 cup chicken stock 3 1/2 T ketchup 1 T soy sauce
Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt and pepper. Let stand for 1 hour or more. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Dip chicken in beaten egg, then in the cornstarch or flour. Brown in hot oil. Place in baking dish, cover with following sauce: Mix together the sugar, vinegar, chicken stock, ketchup, & soy sauce in saucepan and heat. Pour over chicken. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Turn chicken over once or twice during baking. Makes 6 servings.
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
8-10 medium potatoes 3 oz cream cheese 1/2 - 3/4 cup sour cream 1/4 cup butter 1 tsp garlic salt 1/4 tsp pepper
Cut potatoes in quarters with the skin on, and cook through. Then add cream cheese, sour cream, butter, garlic salt, & pepper. Mash together.
Sour Cream Crescent Rolls
1 cup warm water 2 tbsp yeast 1/4 cup shortening 2 cups sour cream 1 cup sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp soda 2 pre-beaten eggs 7 cups flour
Set aside 1 cup warm water and 2 tbsp yeast, dissolved in a little sugar. Melt shortening on low heat. Add sour cream and mix together until smooth. Then add sugar. Combine yeast mixture with the above mixture. Add salt, soda, & eggs. Gradually add flour. Raise about 1 hour. Make 3 balls our of the dough. Roll each ball of dough into a circle. Cut with a pizza cutter into triangles. Roll from base to point of triangle. Place on greased cookie sheet. Raise again. Bake at 350 for about 10-12 minutes.
Russian Dressing
1/2 cup Sugar 1/4 cup Vinegar 1/3 cup Ketchup 1 cup Oil 1 tsp Worchester sauce 1/8 tsp Cloves 1 small onion (minced) 1 clove garlic salt
Let stand 8 hours
Dee Brown's Salad Dressing
1 cup oil 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup Red wine vinegar 1 tsp poppy seeds 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1 tsp salt
